How do Micro-channeling treatments really work?

How do Micro-channeling treatments really work?

Micro-channeling is also known as micro-needling and collagen induction therapy

This treatment is painless and a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure done with an electric pen containing twelve tiny needles. The needles puncture the skin to create a controlled injury which prompts the production of new collagen and elastin in the area to fill the microscopic wounds. Skin texture and density will improve dramatically. New collagen and elastin can reverse years of sun damage including wrinkles and fine lines, improve acne scars and enhance the overall appearance of aging skin. Prior to the procedure starting a numbing topical is applied so that there is no discomfort at all. The skin is sometimes pink and the color can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Clean mineral makeup can be applied the following day. If treating acne scarring or surgical scarring, healing may take a couple extra days as that area may be treated differently in order to break up scar tissue. Immediately after treatment, you should avoid sweating and extreme heat for the rest of the day. (steam, sauna, whirlpool)
